Affect of debt on visa applications

Post by newuser42 » Wed Jun 23, 2021 5:44 pm

Hello. Im currently studying on a Tier 4 visa since 2019 which expires next year. I live in a private student accommodation and I’m in considerable debt of around £2800 in rent because of unexpected expenses. The due date was 1 April but my landlord has agreed to let me pay it anytime before the end of my tenancy which is on 2 July. I’ll be requesting my landlord to allow me to pay it by November as I’m expecting financial help in October.

I know it would affect my credit. Can it have an effect on my future visa or residency applications, if the landlord doesn’t take any legal action beside allowing me to pay it in November?

Thanks.
