Travel with family to Ireland on critical skills permit

Post by vergil901 » Tue Jun 22, 2021 1:02 pm

Hi,

If I have been granted a critical skills work permit and I am planning to apply for long term visa for employment in Ireland, is there any visa for my family/spouse/kids which I can apply for them along with my work visa so that I can travel along with my family from day 1? Or there is no way to take family with you from day 1 and I have to travel solo and apply for family join visa after few months after working in Ireland? Please confirm.

Thanks,
Umer

Hello littlerr,

Which visa would be required by my family to apply? Can you confirm or share some more details?

Thanks,
Umer

There should be no ambiguity in it. If you go to the visa application page, there's only 1 type of visa that you can select.

So this is what I should apply.
What is the reason for travel? Employment
What type of Visa/Preclearance are you applying for? Long Stay (D)
Journey Type: Single or Multiple

And this is what I should apply for my spouse n kids along with my application and submit the case together?
What is the reason for travel? Employment
What type of Visa/Preclearance are you applying for? Join Family (Non-EEA nat.)(spouse)
Journey Type: Single or Multiple

Please advise.

Thanks,
Umer

As per my previous comment, the reason for travel is Join Family and the type of visa is D.

Thanks, Corrected below. So are there chances for rejection if we apply together?

My application:

Journey Type: Single or Multiple

And this is what I should apply for my spouse n kids along with my application and submit the case together?

This is too general a question to be answered. Any application has a chance to be rejected. Whether applying together or separately does not increase or decrease that risk. You just have to make sure you have all documents required for either application.
