Eligibility for Child Naturalisation after ILR

Post by jameswilliamson6544 » Wed Jul 21, 2021 10:12 am

Child was born outside UK/EU and has ILR.
Both parents born outside UK/EU also have ILR.

Mother has done 12+ months on ILR
Father and child has done less than 7 months on ILR.

Child has done 5+ years in the UK.

Mother is planning to apply for naturalisation in the next few days.

When Mother apply for naturalisation, can they add Child on the same application, or do they have to wait for Father to complete 12months on ILR first and then apply for Child naturalisation under Father application.

IELTS Life Skills B1 over 3 years old

Post by jameswilliamson6544 » Wed Jul 21, 2021 10:16 am

I got IELTS Life Skills B1 over 3 years ago.

Used that certificate in a successful ILR application.

Can I use the same certificate in naturalisation application too?

Hello,

Can the moderators please help if I can re-use my ILETS Life Skills B1 that was used 3+ years ago for ILR.

Test centre provider (IELTS) and code is still on approved list, the address however within the same city has changed.

Child can apply when mother applies.
Hi, I am asking this with utmost respect to the work and knowledge of the moderators -

Is it possible to get a link to the official guidance where it says:
child
- under age 6 year
- born outside UK/EU
- stayed in UK for 5+ years
- having ILR for less than 12 months
- can apply for naturalisation at the same time when parent is applying for their naturalisation

parent has done 12+ months on ILR

Hello,

We are now submitting application for mother (now on ILR) and Child born in India (now on ILR). Father already has ILR and will complete 12 months in a few months.
Mother will apply for naturalisation
Child will apply for registration

Can moderators please confirm if documents below are sufficient or do we need to add anything else?

- Current Passport of mother and child plus any previous passport used to travel in/out UK
- BRP of mother and child showing ILR
- BRP of father showing ILR
- Knowledge of language and life certificates for mother
- Birth certificate of child
- Marriage certificate of parents
- Referee Declarations - 2each for mother and child
- Letter of consent signed by both parents

Looks ok - though "any previous passport used to travel in/out UK" not required.

Should have added that if the three year qualifying period for mother is covered by more than one passport, then the relevant passports to be included.

There’s a five year qualifying period for mother under Section 6(1).
