Switch from FLR (FP) 10 years to 5 years

Post by fabflower » Sun Jul 18, 2021 12:31 am

Dear Moderators,

Hope you are well.
I will appreciate your help with my query

Background
Applied for FLR (FP) as parent of a 7 year old child contiuously resided in the UK since birth
Application submitted 18.01.2019
Granted under the 10 year route
BRP valid 12.08.2019
BRP expiry 11.02.2022

Question:
I now meet the requirements for the FLR (FP) 5 year route (financial) i always met the english language requirements. Can I apply immediately or do I have to wait for 28 days to current leave expiring

2. My child is eligible for naturalisation as he turns 10 in December therefore I'm not including him in this application. Will that have a negative effect?

Thank you in advance for you responses

You can switch anytime as long as you meet the requirement for 5 years route.

2. My child is eligible for naturalisation as he turns 10 in December therefore I'm not including him in this application. Will that have a negative effect? No but the application form will still ask you if you have any child and you will need to declare him.

Thank you in advance for you responses
