Student Visa - Funds - Parent as proprietor

Post by imaverick » Thu Jul 29, 2021 3:01 pm

Hello All,

I am an Indian, applying for student visa.

The query i have is, when showing maintenance + fees, can i use my parents account
1. Its a current account
2. Its in the name of business, its a sole proprietorship 100% belonging to parent

I do have all documents including registration certificates to link the organization to my parent. Bank document(statement + letter) also states parents name along with company name. Also have consent letter from parents to access funds anytime.

I have checked gov.uk, it says current account can be used.

Will need inputs from successful applicants who have used this route to obtain student visa.

I have checked gov.uk, it says current account can be used.
It also says it must be a personal account, not a business account.

See Appendix Finance, paragraph FIN 8.1:

FIN 8.1. Funds may be held in any form of personal bank or building society account (including current, deposit, savings, pension from which the funds can be withdrawn or investment account) provided the account allows the funds to be accessed immediately.
