Got the documents yesterday with approval. :)

My timeslines are as follows

Switching from Work Permit to Tier-1 (General) without Dependents
Applied from UK on 21-08-2008
Application received on 22-08-2008
Reference letter dated : 26-08-2008
Payment detected : 27-08-2008
Assigned to the CW : 22-09-2008

Approved and Stamped on the same day : 22-09-2008 :o
HO response till yesterday : Still under consoderation

HO neither called my employers nor my University. Actually i had worked for 3 employers during the 12 months period for which i have claimed points for my earnings. So i have submited payslips from three different employers, and bank statements from two different banks....etc etc

HO didn't bother to call none of my employers..

All the best for those still waiting for their results.
Hope you all end up with some good news.

Tier 1 general

Post by tier1waiting » Thu Oct 16, 2008 11:35 am

This forum has helped me a lot so it is my turn to share my news.

My tier 1 general approved visa valid for 3 yrs arrived today by Royal Mail Special Next Day delivery. The visa was approved yesterday.

Here is the story...

I first applied for my Tier 1 general sometime on mid-July 2008. £750 payment was taken within 2 days and acknowledgement letter arrived accordingly. No urgent treatment request (UTR) was made. 10 weeks later my documents arrived and visa was rejected because of incomplete bank statements and the P60 was not accepted. they did not bother to send me letter to ask me to supply missing documents. they just rejected it outright. No right of appeal was given because i am already in uk with Work Permit visa valid for a few more years.

I panicked...I felt like my world turned upside down...I already left my previous employer and time is ticking because my previous visa was only valid for my previous employer because it is a work permit...which is now called Tier 2 I think...

Anyway, I applied again within 2 weeks of receiving the rejection supplying the missing documents...and as usual paid another £750...and payment was taken within 2 days and I received an acknowledgement letter. I already have a job offer and the company is getting restless after waiting for 10 weeks from my previous application and so I sent an urgent treatment request with job offer confirmation attached and letter explaining I have already applied previously and now been waiting for more than 10 weeks already....after I submitted my UTR the next day I rang them up and they said they decided to treat my case urgently...and within 1 week of submitting my application i rang yesterday and they said it has been posted to me...and it arrived today....

so i am very relieved now after weeks of being so worried...on some nights i wake up with nightmare of leaving the uk ... when i get unconscious... anyway, i wish everyone all the best of success...

Congrats for getting your visas!!

I decided to send in additional documents today as my quarterly bank statements have arrived. I wanted to send it to back up the letter the bank wrote for me. So I called them just to tell them that, and out of the blue, without me even asking about the status bec i would rather have an unexpected post, the CC said that my case been decided and I should recieve it in a few days.

He said he couldn't tell me over the phone because someones the CW double check the cases even after a decision is made, and in some instances the decision can be reversed.

I'm not sure what's going to happen with the additional documents I posted today (And I wanted half an hour in the queue at the post office dammit!!)

WP -> Tier 1
Applied/deducted: 16 Sept

I hope so. I am just fed up with this waiting. It has been the longest and most stressful waiting in my life. But different cases may have different processing time. Anyway, hope you will get your passport with good news.

Hi Xiaowei,

I know it is painful, but you have applied on 16/09/2008, see the others who are waiting since June/July/August, consider me as well I have submitted my application on 06/09/2008, HO received it on 09/09/2008, they dedcuted the payment same day and letter was issued on the same day and still waiting.

I know it is very stressful, but we are the receiving end :)

Received 17 of October

Rejected, because of reason that my bachelor degree does not equates to British bachelor degree

I just sent the original degree to them and not the mark sheet (that detailed the subjects etc). Also i did not sent my one year diploma and oracle certification.

Now i am planning to sent my degree +mark sheet+ one year diploma (vb+database)+oracle certification to naric to see whether it equates to bachelor degree.

My question is that , do they take combination of qualification (like above) and make it
equitant to degree.

Also will it be worth putting the years of experience with degree. Will no of years of experience will also help making my qualification equal to British Bachelor?

If naric approves it will home office will also..?

Sorry to hear that, I am not sure, i will confirm it with someone and get back to you shaz999, i know it is very difficult to accept that.

shaz999 as you mentioned your bachelor's degree, can you tell me where have you completed it from (place of issue & study)?

Hope you all the best.
