Change in Marital Status Since Application

Post by rajashahidaly » Tue Aug 24, 2021 6:03 am

Hi guys
Sorry if this has been discussed already. I applied for Naturalisation Oct 2020 based on 5 yrs Stamp1/4 non EU.
I was single when i was applying, got married in May 2021, still waiting for the approval .....
Are we supposed to inform the application team of the change in marital status ??
Is it mentioned any where in application form?
If yes whats the procedure?
And will it make things more complicated and take more time for decision?

Will appreciate if someone could guide.
Regards

It is very advisable to let the citizenship team know if any the following happen after you send the application:

- get arrested, charged, fined or convicted for any offence or crime
- claim social welfare payments
- leave country for more than six weeks
- change your permission type
- get married or divorced

Or anything else which you may think is important to take into consideration. It's not going to make things complicated. In fact not informing about some of the above can be disastrous. You need to send a letter.
