skilled worker visa soc and salary requirement

Post by hw620 » Tue Aug 24, 2021 9:02 am

Hello, all
Hope you are doing well. I have some questions to ask for your help with.
1. the soc code for my current role is a purchasing manager role. Will it be ok if my new role and soc code is for a purchasing officer role?
2. does my new visa application require my new salary has to be higher than my current level?
3. if my notice period is by the end of September, shall I ask my new employer to issue the start date on 1st Oct?
4. Suppose I receive my new visa earlier than 1st Oct, can I still work for my current employer until the end of Sep?
5. do I have to ask my current employer to notice Home Office about my leaving and if they have to cancel my COS?

Thank you so much for your help.

No. the SOC code for purchasing managers is 1133 and for buyers and procurement officers 3541. The SOC code appropriate for the job is chosen by the sponsor, not by ou

the visa start date is determined by the work start date in the CoS but you can work out your notice period

they will notify the HO of the end of your sponsorship through the SMS, this is not for you to do.

Thank you, Manci.
For the 1st question, i think I didn't explain it clearly. What I meant is my current role is a 1133- purchasing manager. The jobs I am looking for includes 3541 procurement offer (which is not a manager role). Will it be a problem for me to obtain a new visa(I changed my job from a manager role to a non-managerial role)?

No, this will not be a problem provided you have a CoS for the new job and meet the requirements.
