I too received an email saying my certificate should be posted within 2 weeks... when did everyone receive their certificates after this email?

I chase & get updates weekly...
Latest reason is there is no ceremony date noted on my application... 🙄
I have now escalated it myself & got my MP to escalate it too.

Honestly, I wouldn’t go off my timeline thou, everything that could go wrong during this process is going wrong for me. Others have had theirs back much quicker.

They cant give you any useful information on the phone so I wouldn’t bother with calling.
Once you get a reply, just keep responding to that same person for updates.

Hi Just a update

Cover letter, original cert, supporting docs received by HO - 05/05/2021
Calls made and email sent to them on 12th May and 17th May
Email received from them today just stating that the package as arrived now

I'm bit surprised that they received it on 5th May and i have signed proof as well. I guess it takes 2 weeks to reach that department. Now god only knows when they will start assessing the file :(

Wow that's long, some of the guys here in this post got it within 2 weeks and max 2 months

Didn't you contact them regularly after they told you that they started looking at your application? did they mention to you that your case might take time or was it one of those standard email replies back to you?

Hi,

Yes I contacted them weekly. But they made mistake after mistake with mine. Even sent it back to the registrar and sent me an invitation to attend another ceremony. Which was wrong & had to be returned to HO to reissue again.
Etc etc. Just so many mistakes.
I’m sure it was just mine & won’t happen to all requests 😉

Hi,

Just wait unfortunately.
It can take 1-2 months under normal circumstances anyway. I would say if you still haven’t had any sort of acknowledgment after a month or so, get your MP to ask on your behalf.

Hi

I rang the number mentioned in this post (03007906268) and they told me they wont escalate any issue unless 10 weeks is over

So im currently on 5 weeks so they said call after 10 weeks then they take my name and email id - so i guess its wait game for me and see if anything happens in the next 5 weeks , if not i can call them on the 10th week and get my case escalated

Hi Misty

I received a letter (by post) on the weekend (dated 9th June) with my support documents and they said a correct certificate will be with you shortly

Any idea how long did it take for you guys to get the correct certificate after receiving the letter with your support documents?

Thank you

C. As my spouse shares my story of being born in a Baltic state but being a citizen of Russia, what could be done to prevent the same sequence of mistakes from repeating? Should we write a cover letter to the caseworker and enclose it with the naturalisation application?
Well, now we done it (wrote a very polite cover letter in our naturalisation certificate informing the case worker that it should be either "SomeTown, USSR" or "SomeTown, Estonia") and guess what?

The ceremony invitation letter says that certificate is issued with an absolutely preposterous birthplace of "USSR, Russian Federation". Which does not match ANY document at all.
Well, I hope the correction would be done in the same four weeks as mine. Still an unwanted delay.

:)

Took me over 6 months to sort (wrong place of birth). Just have to wait and be patient although frustrating. Good luck

Hi,

Its my story for the dreaded error on citizenship certificate. We applied for Naturalisation in Feb 21 and received approval letter along with certificate for my daughter on 17th July. The certificate was with her name spelt as shown in old passport. The spelling has been amended since the issue of first passport.

I posted the certificate back along with form RR and supporting documents to show that the application was made with different spelling and they have used another in certificate. Since then I am following it up to check where this is and when we will receive the correct certificate back. No response form any of the email id until 12th August, on 12th August someone replied saying they have received it and it is being looked at.

Sadly we had a bereavement in family back home and I requested them to send the certificate back so we can start passport application soon and plan to travel to see our family. I had no response on my email since 12th August. I tried to call the contact center on 1st September and requested an escalation on compassionate ground, they gave me a ticket number and told me someone will contact me within 72 hours and probably will ask for evidence (of bereavement). As expected no one contacted me. I called back on 7th September (well over 72 hours) and asked if it had been escalated and I was told that it was indeed put in as escalation request and they were surprised as to why no one contacted. Anyways. it was escalated again on 7th September and I was again given 72 Hours timeline. Guess what, No one contacted me again. At that point I was so frustrated that if they can't consider an escalation on compassionate ground then I don't know what else they will consider. The more frustrating thing was that no one attempted to contact me.

I called again on 10th September and send few email as well in between but so far have not heard anything. In these 8 weeks we received approvals on our application, attended citizenship ceremony and applied for our ( mine and my wife's) passports and got approval on passport application. While my daughter's certificate is still sat at someone's desk.

Is there anything else I can do to find out where that certificate is and if it is going to be amended or not?
In hindsight, I shouldn't have send the certificate back and used it along with a name change deed to get British passport with correct spelling but I wasn't expecting it to take this long.
