Lost BRP

Post by siralexius » Wed Sep 15, 2021 4:05 pm

Hi everyone,
I might’ve lost my residence card and I have my settled status. Do I need to get settled status card or eu family member one? How is it going to be what to apply?

I'm assuming you mean a EEA RC = BRC, not BRP (that's for UK Tier cards, not EEA routes)
If so, you probably need to report the card as lost here: https://www.gov.uk/uk-residence-card/re ... tolen-card

If you had a BRC, it is up to you if you want to replace the lost card. Your Settled Status allows you to legally live and work in the UK.
If you think you'll be in need to show a physical card (e.g. if you need to travel in and out of the UK, if your employers or landlord request it because not satisfied by share code of electronics status -which shouldn't happen, but sill-, etc.), then you can apply to replace it here: https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-service

I did reported as BRP through https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence- ... en-damaged. I suppose it should be okay? Also I applied through that website as BRP as well. I don't think it should be a problem? I have to provide the evidence and booked my biometrics.

Do you have a BRC or a BRP???

BRC is NOT the same thing as a BRC.

Rule of thumb is,

If your biometric card was issued under EU regulations, as a non-EU family member of a EU national, then you had a BRC
If your biometric card was issued under UK regulations (e.g. under the Tier system), then you had a BRP

I think the application link is the same, but the reporting of lost card is not. Just to be sure you could use the other link as well.

I did receive email this morning from BRCLost@homeoffice.gov.uk so it looks like I don't need to send email anymore. Just to supports they sended this if it will help to other people;

"You are not required to apply for a replacement card if you have lost it or it is damaged, as you can rely upon your digital status. Everyone granted status under the EU Settlement Scheme will receive a secure, accessible online (digital) status, which they can use to evidence their right to stay, work and access services in the United Kingdom. All applicants granted status under the scheme will receive a letter attached to an email communicating the outcome of their application which explains their new online status to them and how to access it."

"However, you may not be able to return to the United Kingdom from abroad without a biometric residence card. If you wish to replace your lost, stolen or damaged biometric residence card, you should use the service at https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-service. You will need to pay a fee, details of which can be found using the above link. You will need to enroll your biometrics again, the cost of which can be found at: https://s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/sopr ... as/FAQ.pdf. Further details regarding enrolling your biometric information will be provided when you apply."

If you don't get out of the UK you are fine until citizenship is basically. Also just in case I just competed and booked my biometrics for the new resident card.

I did made an application on 22/09/2021 and did receive an email from Sopra Steria that my application has been submitted. Since than there is no update at all. Do you receive an email about the outcome or what happens once you made a new application?
