Spouse visa extension in UK-English exam requirement

Post by bigben1982 » Fri Sep 10, 2021 9:46 am

Hello forum experts,
Hope you all are safe.
My wife's initial spouse visa expires 20/10/2021.
When she applied for the initial spouse visa from outside UK, she just submitted UKNARIC compatibility certificates(I think 2 of them). She didn't take any English exams to prove her language ability. She completed her degree in English medium back home.
Question is,
does he needs to take any English exams for her Spouse visa extension or UKNARIC certificates enough?
Please kindly let me know.
Thank you.

You can reuse the previous NARIC docs. If she meets the standard at that time it still stands.

Thank you AmazonianX for replying to my message.

Her UKNARIC English language proficiency statement says,

"The level of English language for the above degree course is considered to meet the requirments of CEFR level C1".

Is she still ok to submit UKNARIC documents only without taking any exams?

Thank you in advance for taking your time to reply admins/experts in this forum.

That is OK, she can reuse it. It even exceeds the required B1.

Re: Spouse visa extension in UK-Reasons to stay in UK-How to proof

Post by bigben1982 » Thu Sep 23, 2021 12:47 pm

Dear forum experts,
Sorry it's me again.
Just filling the application form. TBH I don't know if this is FLR(M).

How will I find it?

It says family route.

What type of visa, leave to enter or remain or other permission do you have to be in the UK? Family is the chosen answer. Is it correct? The reason I am asking, going through her initial spouse visa application,I found out "settlement" was selected.

If you were required to leave the UK, what country would you go to? She mentioned her home country. Is that what they are expecting? We can't lie saying she can't go back. What's the motive behind this question?

Are there any factors which would make it difficult or impossible for you to integrate and establish a private life in that country? She selected "no".

I understand I must provide all my reasons for wanting to stay in the UK on this application and will do so- She can't say anything else except the fact that she needs to stay in UK because husband works here and baby was born here so to raise the kid together and giving a better life and future for the baby in UK.

Please let me know if I am making any stupid mistakes not answering much for the questions above.

Hi Forum experts,

I am finalising cohabitation documents, looking forward to apply coming week, visa expiring 22.10.2021.

Please help me choose proof for cohabitation.

We have joint bank statements(wife and mine) covering the period 10.10.2019-01.10.2021.This period covers our previous address and current address.Couple of months statement missing.

Do I have to submit all bank statements? I will be definitely using 6 months payslip to prove income which covers the statements from 11.03.2021 up until 10.08.2021(received via post) and from 10.08.2021-01.10.2021(printed and stamped at bank).

2.
a) Previous tenancy covering period 25.02.2019- 24.02.2020(both names are there). After this period tenancy was rolling contract therefore no updated tenancy agreement received from my previous landlord.

b) Current address tenancy agreements showing both names for the periods 01.09.2020-31.08.2021 & 01.09.2021-31.08.2022.

3.
Married certificate, translation in English certified by my country's High Commission here in UK.

c) New amended bill 2020/2021 showing current address(both names there)

d)Council Tax annual bill 2021/2022(both names showing current address)

6.
GP practise letter dated 12.03.2020 to access our patient records ( no address mentioned but both our names there)

7.
Following water bills, both names there, registered at previous address.

a) 13.02.2019-04.03.2019
b) 05.03.2019(billed for this date only)
c) 06.03.2019-16.04.2019
d) 17.04.2019- 13.06.2019
e) 14.06.2019-13.07.2019

t) A letter received from water company confirming new address, both names and necessary details.

8 ) Baby was born here so her British Birth certificate

Apologies for the long message but please kindly advice me which documents are good enough to proof cohabitation. There is nothing else I can get apart from individually named few NHS letters containing confidential patient information.

Also another question in the application form,I have got no clue how to reply.
Question is,

Re: Spouse visa extension in UK-Have I applied for correct visa?

Post by bigben1982 » Thu Nov 11, 2021 9:17 am

Dear forum experts,

It's me again. Wife received biometric ID today. She compared the initial BRP for Spouse visa with this one and found out a difference.

On the type of permit section on BRP, there is an additional remark says "Spouse/Partner" above LTR which we can't see on the initial BRP.

We are a bit confused whether we applied for the correct visa extension( 5 years route).

Please kindly let me know.

Thank you.
