Is your spouse British?
Can I apply for British passport?
You can only apply for a passport once your are British. You have to apply to naturalise as British first on form AN online.
I'm unemployed also.
Irrelevant. Employment is not a requirement to apply for citizenship.

You must make sure you meet the absence requirements.

No - there are no financial requirements for naturalisation (it's not a visa application) - income, taxes paid, benefits received if entitled are not assessed. Your route to ILR is not relevant.

Once you receive approval, you have to BOOK the ceremony within a certain timeframe. You then have to ATTEND the ceremony within a timeframe, which was increased to 6 months from 90 days but unsure if it has reverted back to 90 days.

If you do not book and attend your ceremony in the stipulated time, your certificate is sent back to UKVI by the Council and you have to apply and pay again, meeting all the requirements again from scratch.

First of all naturalisation is not a visa application where financial aspects are taken into account - naturalisation is under the British Nationality Act NOT immigration regulations. Please refer to the government guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... n-guidance
It's primarily about residency and good character. If you qualify for job seekers allowance apply for it - you won't have to disclose it.

Hi,
Regarding application of naturalization online and offline printed form, I can see on the printed form there is a space for the referee to sign in but in online nothing is mentioned about sign. Wondering how they will evaluate?

2. For reference can I provide name of a bank worker for first referee??

Thanks

The form is part of the online form you have to complete. You then print the referee forms and send to the referees to sign and return to you.

No. Upload with all your supporting documents before your biometric appointment date.

Hi,
In the naturalization application I need to feel up my employment history. Now I have got fees questions
1. I was appointed by agency Reed , worked for Lloyds Bank but I can see I got payment from RMS staffing ( I logged in HM revenue page to see my employment history). Now who is my employer ? Reed or RMS
2. What should be the date of beginning/ ending period of my work. I guess it's the first/ last day I worked ? Or the first/ last salary date ?
3. For two of my jobs I cannot remember the last working day. So in the application form is it okay to put last salary day instead of last working day?

Thanks
Adiba

1. Reed presumably as you have signed a contract with them ....
2. First/last day worked for Reed.
3. You can give an estimate like month/year - the salary pay date is not relevant I believe as that could be before or after end of job.

Post by adi21 » Thu Mar 03, 2022 2:47 pm

1.Just wondering how to submit the docs? ( Passport, referee signed form n all others) .Shall I need to upload or send to HO? Please send the guidance link.
2. If by post then all the docs need to be original?
3. Booking for biometric- how to do that ? Is it after submitting the form , the system will provide any link?
4. Is there any time limitations of the referee signed date by which I need to submit form. My referees r Signed date is 28 Feb 2022.

1. Upload. It is exactly the same process as when you applied for ILR

2. Nothing is posted!!

3. Yes and yes. Same process online as when you applied for ILR.

4. Should be fine.
