Travel abroad during MN1 application

Post by Andrew2020 » Sun Sep 26, 2021 8:02 pm

Hi all;

May i kindly ask you to help me with my question?

I recently granted ILR and will apply for BC registration through MN1 route for my UK born daughter. I am planning to apply inside October 2021 however will need to travel to my home country with my daughter.

Is she allowed to travel abroad even she applied for MN1 registration? She does have Tier 2 general dependant visa which is valid until June 2022.

Thanks

Free to travel. Citizenship is NOT an immigration application.

Thanks a lot CR001.

Another question,

How should i answer the below question? I am from an EEA nation and relying on the ILR which i granted through Tier 2 general visa.

Are you relying on your parent's permanent residence (either as an EEA National or the family member of an EEA National) as evidence of their settled status in the United Kingdom?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.

This is my last question :D

At the declaration, it is asking

I confirm that:

- I am the applicant

- I am a representative of the applicant and have been authorised to act on their behalf and have discussed and confirmed the contents of this application with them

Which one i shall select, for i child application can i select the "i am the applicant" as she is only 4 now.

or should i select the second one as a father, i am filling the form?

Thanks

Select - I am the applicant.
The second option is for lawyers applying on behalf of applicant.

Hi,

thanks all for your answers, it is really useful.

I do also have a son who is 7 years old and born outside UK.
I will be applying him ILR at November 2021 through priority service. (Also with her mother)

Do i need to wait 12 months for registering him as British citizen through MN1 route or AN route?
Or can i apply directly after getting the ILR as he is under 18 years old and both father and mother holding the ILR?
Which form i do need to use MN1 or AN?

Thanks

Children born abroad only qualify for citizenship when either parent is also applying at the same time or is already British.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

Does he need ILR for citizenship application? He has tier 2 dependant visa valid until October 2022, and i will be applying for citizenship at September 2022.

He can apply at the same time with me however does he need an ILR?

Thanks

Hello Again,

I applied to register my daughter through MN1 route yesterday and i do have a biometric appointment on Thursday.

However we are planning a trip to our home country by 15/12/2021 up to 31/12/2021. Will my daughter able to return back to UK with her BRP if her application for MN1 is approved during our stay at our home country. As far as i know when the MN1 is approved, the BRP is cancelled?

Thanks

You are assuming that the application will be approved in about two to three months.
In that case they may have your daughter as British on the system and could confiscate the BRP - but if she's British she cannot be refused entry to the UK as she will have "right of abode" as a British citizen. But it's more likely that processing and approval will happen in the new year, judging by the timelines reported: british-citizenship/mn1-registration-ap ... l#p2036647
