"Entry Visa" for children of OCI holder - how long can you apply for?

Post by donblount » Fri Oct 01, 2021 9:23 pm

There is a visa called "Entry Visa" ( different from Tourist visa) which one can apply for children and spouses of OCI holders. While applying for the visa it asks 1) how long is the visa requested for 2) is it single or multiple entry visas. What should I fill in this place? If I request for too long ( lets say 1 year) is there a higher chance of visa getting rejected? Same with choosing multiple entry, Is there a higher chance of visa getting rejected?

What is the normal duration one can apply for this visa for?

There is no relation between duration and number of entries on visa to rejection.

Visa is only rejected for incorrect paperwork or inelibility, ...you may apply for as high duration as you require, same for number of entries.

Though it's also true immigration officers sometimes curtail the duration granted if they are not satisfied with documentation or reasoning.

I've applied indian visa for family for a year earlier and got the same following regular documentation.

India Visa application for Minor - who should sign

Post by donblount » Fri Oct 08, 2021 11:05 am

There are two places that require signature for India visa application

1) Box below first page, below the photo

2) 2nd page, at the bottom of the application

Who should sign this document? A 2 year old minor child wont be able to sign this.

a) Should the parents sign? If so should both parents sign or just one.
b) Should parents sign both 1st and 2nd page?
c) Is there a need to take finger prints of children in the document
