TB test exemption for Pregnant Women

Post by CalebElisha » Fri Oct 15, 2021 2:38 pm

Hi,

My pregnant wife(20+ weeks) is planning to travel with me to UK under the dependent visa category and will be planning to stay with me for 3 years.

We come from a region where TB test is mandatory to enter UK; given the circumstances, can there be an exemption for my wife, wherein she travels to UK and undergoes the TB test(Sputum method)?

Challenges we are facing:
1) TB test via X-Rays are harmful for the baby.
2) Sputum test Reports takes 8-10 weeks and there after couple of weeks for Visa issuance; this creates travelling challenges as my wife will be not be in permissible travelling window.

Please advice.

Regards.

Unfortunately there is no exemption. The rules for pregnant women are here:
