EU settlement scheme family permit - what is the next step?

Post by CoffreDoré » Fri Oct 15, 2021 9:46 am

Hello,

My mother came yesterday on an EU settlement scheme family permit visa, which is due to expire end of November (6 months validity). I am very confused about the next step. I read online that residence cards are no longer issued?
What is the next step? How to get her an ID card? Help much appreciated

Your mother needs to apply for the EU pre-Settled Status.

Permit is not a visa, it's just there to facilitate entry to the UK.

Thank you very much for that. How about getting her an ID card though?

As your mother is non-EU she will give her biometrics as part of the application and a BRP card will be issued once approved.
