Dependant's right to work - Switching from Tier 2 General to BNO visa

Post by kcy1005 » Mon Nov 15, 2021 11:32 am

Hi all, I am glad a forum like this exists as UK immigration rules are just complex and confusing!

I am now holding a Tier 2 (General) visa and my wife's visa is dependent on me, both are due to expire in Feb next year. We already applied for BNO visa in mid-Sep, but are still waiting for the decision. My question is that if I resign from my current job now, will my wife still be permitted to work?

I read similar posts in the forum. It seems that after my resignation we will remain on the current visa while awaiting decision on BNO visa application. I am not going to work until the BNO visa is granted as I would like to spend the time to prepare for my coming exam, but my wife would like to continue working in the current role. Would there be any problem please?

Thanks a million!!

Thank you so much sah10406!

Please may I have another question: should I still inform HO about my resignation and how? Will we still receive curtailment letters from HO in this case? Thanks a lot!

These are questions best directed to the employer who sponsored your visa.
