Money transfer from Pakistan to UK

Post by Cheesychopstix » Mon Feb 14, 2022 12:41 am

Hi everyone,

So i have an inheritance in Pakistan which I need to transfer over to UK. The money is in PKR (Pakistani rupees).

As those from Pakistan may know, this is not an easy task. Am curious to know how others are working around this.

State Bank of Pakistan has imposed PKR to foreign currency conversion limits from money changers. Daily limit of $10k and yearly limit of $100k (or equivalent in other foreign currencies). These limits are per person and tracked by biometric fingerprint at the money changer. Once you hit your daily and/or yearly limit, you cannot convert any more.

So if one needs to send an amount of more than $100k out of Pakistan into UK, how can one go about it? Can't wait for a year to pass by until limits get reset again....pkr is losing about 20% to 30% each year against the British Pound.

Help!

Thanks in advance.
