"Your applications on behalf of yourself and your children have not yet been initially assessed. Once they have been initially assessed, you will receive letters with the application number and your receipt for your application fees. This office will be in contact in due course.

Unfortunately due to the present circumstances in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic there may be a delay in assessing applications and the subsequent return of travel/original documents/fee receipts etc. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are working as hard as we can to ensure this delay is as short as possible.

Acknowledgment Date: After receiving an email on Friday 16/10 /20 asking to confirm address, I received my passport back by Registered Post on Wednesday 21/10/20, along with receipt of application fee payment and a letter with application number and information about application processing times.

27/08/2020 - Phone call (private number) to confirm address. 01/09/2020 received passports back, as well as the payment confirmation and application number. The letter says that the application is being processed and that they will contact me in case they need any other clarification / documentation, otherwise my file will be forwarded to the minister, in which case I will hear back from them „in due course” or as soon a decision has been made:) Timeframe for a straightforward application is 12 months.
