ILR- IELTS not needed for doctors?

Post by kary23 » Wed Jan 26, 2022 8:29 pm

Hi,

I am about to apply for my ILR next month and my original IELTS exam before coming to UK on Tier 5 visa was in October 2015. I recently saw some guidance that suggests doctors from 2021 onwards would not need to prove language eligibility if they used it for UK entry. Is this true or do I need to resit IELTS. Any advice would be really grateful.
Thanks

Test can be reused if accepted in a previous successful application. It applies to everyone, not just doctors.

Tier 2 General does not exist anymore as it has been replaced by the Skilled worker visa route. The English language is not a requirement anymore under the Skilled worker route: indefinite-leave-to-remain/language-req ... l#p2002760

Thanks for the replies.

On the ILR form, is there a section about IELTS or does the skilled worker category doesn’t ask for it anymore?

Regards

A recent applicant reported that the ILR form was not yet updated and still asked for questions about test. But you shouldn't worry about that, just answer accordingly.

ILR appointment date

Post by kary23 » Fri Feb 25, 2022 10:30 am

Hi,

My current Visa expires 19/03/2022. If I submit my ILR application in a day or 2 and I receive my Biometric appointment after 19/03/2022, would that count as overstaying.

Regards

No. The date you submit and pay the application fee online is the Application Date.

Entering details of Absence from UK

Post by kary23 » Fri Feb 25, 2022 3:08 pm

Hi,

I am filling out the form for ILR and I am confused on entering the absence details.
My initial visa was approved on 20/02/2017 and I entered UK on 09/03/2017, do I need to enter these dates also on the form to calculate my period of absence from the country.

Regards

Additionally I was on a Tier 5 visa from OCt 2015 to Feb 2017. Do I need to mention this time period as there is a question about places I have lived in the past excluding UK?

You can if you want. UKVI will rely on their own systems to calculate the absences not your answers

Thanks for the answers.
Do I need a letter from my employer specifying the dates I was out of country or a general letter from them would suffice. I am already providing an excel sheet and passport scans to confirm the time period.
All my absences were with my previous employer and no leaves out of country with my current employer.

Thanks once more.

One last query. I only have given name on my passport and no surname. Should I choose the option no given name and Surname or should I enter my given name both in surname and first name.

Regards

Leave surname empty if possible or choose that option
