Indian passport re-issue processing time

I submitted my application (normal) for re-issue of passport on 20/04 at Birmingham. I have been tracking the application status and it has only moved to "passport application is under review at indian embassy/consulate uk" since yesterday (06/05).

Can anyone share their experiences in the recent times as to how long it took for their re-issue/renewal?
Also where does it go from here and under what circumstances does it go to police verification?

I don't have any changes to passport except for some observations to be incorporated into main page. Also my passport has not expired.

please read my previous chain of posts, i went through the same experiences etc

mine took in total 5 weeks, and yes the tracking does change but be patient as this is india afterall
