Gardai vetting is requested via email or post?

A applied april 2021 and nothing yet just an acknowledgement and passports returned via registered post.
As far as I know they send you a postal letter with a NVB 1 form, you fill it out, send it back, they email you a link to e-vetting some time after.
Not a qualified immigration adviser. Use links and references given to gain confirmation and/or extra information.

My application was received by Citizenship on 24/2/21.

I emailed them the other day saying: "I am writing to you with regards to the above application which you received on 24/02/21.

As it has been with you for over 12 months, I would greatly appreciate it if you could inform me of the status of my application. Please let me know if there is anything required from my side."

The response was, " Thank you for your email.
Your application continues to be processed. While it is not possible to give an exact timeframe, this office will be in touch as soon as a decision has been reached."

I have not received a Garda e-vetting letter or anything since the initial letter with the application reference number and receipt for €175.

-jbminger

Mine was received in January 2021, e-vetting done and disclosure viewed.

Did you fill FOI request already to see their progress with your application as it has been more than a year already

Hi,

No, I have submitted a FOI request. I might sometime.

While it is annoying I haven’t had an contact or info from them recently, it doesn’t really make much difference. I’m allowed to live and work here anyways…

Congrats mads32. I wonder if they now process applications by batch instead of chronological order. So they process applications in January - June 2021 and doesn't progress with remaining applications and then start processing June - December 2021 applications. Because I still don't see any acknowledgement letter from applications after September 2021, so maybe they stopped processing new applications?

This is absolutely correct and officially confirmed (to me on email (applied Oct 21)and here one guy at this forum) :
"Dear *

Thank you for your email. Please note, during this period the focus of Citizenship is on the general processing of applications and in particular those applications 2 years or more in the system. It should be noted that Citizenship Division continued to process applications throughout the Pandemic. New applications will be dealt with as soon as circumstances allow. The problem with this approach is, if you made a mistake while applying, like older form version used, your residency days are not met etc. that will cause you instant refusal, then you will get refused after a year of application instead of getting refused sooner because they are not even sending acknowledgement letters.

They should've sent acknowledgement letters instantly then they could put the processing stages for later on. I still don't know if they will accept my application or not. There is no way for me to ask a question, provide a documents etc. for my application because I don't have an application number at all.

Same here, I don't know your application data, but that is the message I got regarding mine one(by providing tracking) :
"...... Once the applications have been initially assessed, application reference numbers and fee receipts will be issued. While it is not possible to give an exact timeframe, this office will be in touch in due course.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 Pandemic and the attendant requirement to comply with public health guidelines, significant delays are being experienced in general processing. We are working very hard to maintain as prompt a service delivery as possible, under the circumstances.Your continued patience in this matter is appreciated. "
Those words:
" Once the applications have been initially assessed, application reference numbers and fee receipts will be issued " allows me to think about no any progress happens for applications Aug-Sep 2021 period till now, excluding cases for minors (and probably UK, EU applicants who are dealing with another CMU)

There is no guarantee that everyone will be approved at the same time. While it took 2 years for 2019 applicants to get approved there were some cases that took 3 years or still going on. Practically, they can take it as long as time they want and don't have to disclose any reasons to you. What you can do is after 2 years take JR route.

Minister of Justice replied on 10th May, 2022 that "There are currently 26,934 applications on hand at various stages of processing"

https://www.justice.ie/en/JELR/Pages/PQ-10-05-2022-619

but on 17th May, 2022, Minister of Justice replied in tabular form (quite Important) by showing how many application received and processed from 2017 to till now in monthly data

According to which 12929 applications are pending.. Which seems quite contradictory because there is difference of 14005 applications

|Year |Number of applications received | Number of Applications decided |Average Processing Time (Months)
2017 11,777 9,190 7
2018 12,868 11,139 10
2019 12,307 9,319 12
2020 10,775 5,143 13
2021 11,981 11,512 23
2022 5,034 5,510 19

https://www.justice.ie/en/JELR/Pages/PQ-17-05-2022-600

If anyone is applying JR, Solicitor should raise this point and ask right data.

It's a bit complicated data with how it's served at least, need some math for sure.

My favorite part is:

To further speed up the processing of applications, a number of digitisation measures have also been introduced to increase efficiency in the process, including eTax clearance, eVetting and online payments.

Bragging about offering online payments in 2022, priceless

James we are in the same boat sir, but according to your other posts , isn’t your vetting disclosure at the end of March?

As for me, I have given up. I will wait for December. I don’t expect an approval letter anymore even though my disclosure is over two months ago now .

My bad. Just confirmed from my email now. My E-vetting was completed and Garda made disclosure to citizenship in early April 2022.

Anyone that got acknowledgement letters recently did you get eVetting form with it? Or was it just the acknowledgement letter? I mean for the people applied after August 2021.

Got my acknowledgement letter today, it only took 7 months. And letter mentions it takes 23 months to process applications, so we will see

I applied in November and got my acknowledgement and fee receipt last week. The processing time says 23 months from the receipt date so it basically started from November.
