MN1 form for kids "Grandparent details"

Post by sevaz » Sun Jun 19, 2022 4:59 pm

Hello,

I have applied for BC (5 years tier 2 + 1 year ILR ) and my wife just got naturalised (5 years tier 2 dependant + 1 year ILR). We have 2 kids born abroad .

I am currently filling MN1 form for the kids.
1. There is a question:
"Grandparent details" Provide details of your grandparent from whom your mother or father derived British citizenship by descent.

But non of us got British citizenship by descent.
What should we answer?? or I am filling from form??

2. another question:
Choose which category to apply under. You are a child under 18 and:

There are 2 options which suit us:
a) One or both of your parents is applying for British citizenship

b) Other - apply at the discretion of the Home Secretary

Which one should I choose?

Many thanks.

Note that there is only one form and it tries to cover as many scenarios as possible. You only need to choose what's most applicable to you.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Are the children resident in the UK? If so, what is their UK Immigration status? And how old are they?
