ILR card renewal

Hi,my wife ILR brp card is expiring 7th of December this year, it is still nearly 6 months left, I would like to know how early we can apply for renewal? Can we apply now because it take 6 months to be renewed,  for any reply I shall be very grateful .

Sir, I am British citizen now I got my British passport in January this year, it is about my wife, she got her ILR in 2012.
