Returning Refugee Travel Document

I am a dependent of a refugee, I came to the UK, with a family reunion visa. After my passport expired I applied for a refugee travel document because there was no way for me to renew my passport in the UK. However, this has changed as my home country embassy started issuing passports in the UK. Can I cancel my travel document and get back my old passport from the home office so I can renew it?
