Spouse Visa Extension

Post by K4Y » Mon Aug 01, 2022 9:07 pm

Hi all,

Thank you all for helping me last time.

I really need some advice, I will be doing my wife's, visa extension soon. Her visa ends on 6th September 2022. She came on 1st January 2020.

I am living at my parents house, so we don't have any gas or electricity bills under our names.

Under my wife's name, letters we have are

National insurance number letter. Date 14/02/2020

NHS letter dates: 20/04/2020, 22/04/2020, 23/09/2020, 13/10/2020, 07/12/2020, 21/01/2021, 04/03/2021, 22/07/2021 Also have general NHS letters.

GP letter date 22/07/2022

Also will have 6 months Bank statements to be sent home for her.

Under my name, letters I have are

Mobile contract date 11/02/2020, 28/01/2021 (both our mobile contract is under my name)

DVLA reminder letter to renew, date 25/03/2020

NHS letters. Date 27/03/2020, 03/05/2020, 01/06/2022, 20/06/2022

GP letter date 22/07/2022

Ni letter printed out today. Not sure if this will work.

I have a few HMRC general letters about tax code notice, not sure if they will work.

Also I have a son now , should I include any of his letters or birth certificate

Will this be enough for, proof of living together. Or do we need more letters.

Letters all seem fine. They are mostly government issued letters. Even if they weren't they'd still be accepted if that's all you have. Make sure they are spaced out every 4-5 months to cover the last 2-2.5 years.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Thank you for your reply.

Now to space out the letters, will it be ok to have less letters and mostly from the same place like NHS or junk mail will do. If I can not find her letters for 2022 and only have one or two letters from that year will it be ok. Also will I need letters for myself like that as well?

Another things I will like to ask.

Do I need to provide property report like last time. If so can I use the one I used last time for visa. Or do I need to get another one.

Now for my payments Just one month in February I had £1,523 after Tax & Ni. They made a mistake and charged me the wrong amount. But the gross payment i received was over £2,000. Now for all other payments I have after Tax & Ni was £1,750 and before Tax & Ni i get over £2,000

Thanks

Provide what and all you can to try and meet the requirements as best you can.

Gross I.e. before any deduction of minimum £1,550 will meet the financial requirements.
Thanks

Thanks AmazonianX.

I wanted to ask another question.

I will be providing last 6 months of payslips and bank statements for the financial requirements. Should my wife provide 6 months or 2.5 years of bank statements for proof of living together. Also the bank statements I will be getting them stent home, will they need to be stamped.

Thanks

If you meet the requirements with your wages, then your wife doesn't have to meet them as well.
She needs documents from 4 or more sources to prove living together. Not just one source like a bank statement for the whole duration of 2.5 years. P60's, GP letters, water bill, Electricity, any and all correspondence addressed to her to cover a minimum 2 years or 2.5 years. Spaced across every 3 to 4 months.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Proof of living together can not be from her bank statements only. The source should be varied from at least 3 sources and covering a period of 2 years.

Thanks Ticktack & AmazonianX for your replies.

The letters I have found for my wife and myself are.

Wife's letters:

DWP - February 2020
NHS - July 2020
NHS - October 2020

NHS - February 2021 or use Bank statements for January to February
NHS - April 2021
NHS - August 2021

Bank statements posted covering 1st February 2022 to June 2022
GP Letter - July 2022

My letters

HMRC - January 2020 (Basic letters)
Barclays - April 2020, or use Driving licence renew letter - March 2020
Natwest credit card - July 2020
MBNA statement - Nov 2020

HMRC - January 2021 (Basic letters)
Union Letter - May 2021 (Basic letters)
HMRC - August - 2021
Very Credit statement - 2021. But this does not have my full name, as I don't use my first family name and use my middle name and last name. Not sure if this will cause problems.

HMRC - March 2022 (Basic letters)
NHS - May 2022
GP letter - July 2022

This is all I have found, will this be ok. Also if credit card statements, show you have used all of the credit will it look bad. Also most shopping places or mobile contract I don't use my first family name and use middle name and last name. If I was to give these letters will it cause a problem. As we Live at my parents house this is all we have in our names.

Thanks

As said before, provide all that you can get. Add cover note on why it is so.
