FLR M application - cohabitation evidence

Post by ms1993 » Mon Aug 22, 2022 1:00 pm

Hi

We’re now beginning the process of applying for FLR M. Our solicitor has sent us a note today asking us to compile evidence from Oct 2020 to now, evidencing that we have cohabited together. Such as utility bills, HMRC polling card insurance letters and so on. I’m slightly worried because my husbands name didn’t go onto the bills until some point in the last 12-14 months. No particular reason.

We also haven’t retained any postage letters etc that we received - everything we do is online. Have we messed up?

Generally It will stand people in good stead to find out the requirements for the next application once finished with one and not wait till when due to apply for extension.
Provide what you have covering previous 2years. Online letters showing name and address can be use too, print them off

Following on from the previous posts,I actually panicked for no reason because I do have bills from that period - I can't view online but CxS will post. Do you mind looking at my document list I've pulled together for the cohabitation evidence (minus the bank statements as they'll go towards the financial requirements but the joint account will be for cohabitation):

This is all we have because we live in a rent free home, have no other subscriptions and my husband hasn't needed to access NHS/GP treatment either. I do have my husbands pay slips from 2020 to cover any gaps but thats all there is other than utility bills.

We need to cover the period of Jan 2020 to September/October 2022. Visa expires 27/10/2022 and he arrived 27/01/2020

We are accessing fertility treatment and I do have letters/blood test requests addressed to my husband but unsure if its appropriate to add in this level of detail

Cohabitation documents to cover last 2 years counting from the month you want to make the application backwards spaced 3-4months apart.

Can we use the same source documents? Eg utility bills every few months. The reason I ask is because as mentioned, we don’t have many subscriptions or debits between us. He hasn’t had the need to use healthcare either so I have little of that.

We just have utility bills (gas & electric), O2, council tax, p60s, joint bank account, car insurance and mortgage offer. All a mix of joint and single names.

More than 3-4 sources would be fine.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Use from 3-4 sources however when it comes down to it, you can use all items you have got.

Thanks for the advice so far. I have another question related to bills specifically. One utility bill has 3-4 pages. Do I need to scan/ attach all pages or is it enough to scan the first page which shows the name & address? If I do this, there is a header at the top that says 1 or 3/4/6 pages so will that be an issue?

Scan all pages of such documents.
