OCI Card- Do we need to take new born for the appointment ?

Post by sparkyram » Sun Sep 11, 2022 4:56 pm

Hello Guys,

I have new OCI appointment for my 1 month old baby . we both are OCI holders. documentwise everthing is fine. Do we need to carry our baby to the OCI application centre ? or one of the parent attending the appointment is enough?

One of my friend recently applied for his new born, he told that taking baby is not necessary . But i am not able to find the guidelines anywhere in the OCI website. Can someone help pls

There is no need to take children to vfs office to submit their application. Either parent can submit the application. To be on a safer side, carry an authorisation from your spouse authorising you to submit your child's application on her behalf. That should be good enough.
