Post by Bigdebo » Tue Sep 13, 2022 12:14 pm

Hello everyone,
My sister got 2.5yrs leave to remain to be here in uk, but unfortunately her hubby whom helped her to get it died before she arrive. Now she is in the country(UK) and the solicitor saying she's at the risk of deportation when her leave to remain expires. please kindly advice me on what to do. thanks

Is this the same sister that was applying for asylum in France in 2021??

europe-immigration-forum/asylum-seeker- ... l#p2000574

What visa exactly does she have and under which immigration rules??

When does her current visa expire?

Does she have children and if yes, what nationality are they?

Presumably her husband was not British yet??

What was her husband's UK immigration status at the time of his death?

If she is eligible to apply for ILR as a Bereaved partner, then the solicitor was wrong.
