How to answer question on UK travel history in the GTV dependent visa application form for UK born child?

Post by anonvtic » Thu Sep 01, 2022 12:39 pm

I am currently filling out the global talent child dependent visa application form for my UK-born baby online. I have recently moved to ILR status in the UK, but had GTV with expiry date of 04 Sep 2023 (this is also the expiry date of the GTV dependent visa held by the baby's mother).

There is a question on UK travel history:
UK travel history

Have you been to the UK in the past 10 years?
(Required)

[] Yes [] No
If I answer "Yes", a new field opens with the following question:
How many times have you been to the UK in the past 10 years?
If you are unsure of the exact number, provide an estimation. You will be asked to provide details for up to 3 of your most recent times in the UK.

[text box for applicant response]
If I answer "yes" to the above question, then the next page asks more details
Your previous time in the UK

Select why you were in the UK: (Required)

[] Tourism (including visiting family and friends)
[] Work
[] Study
[] Transit (travelling through the country)
[] Other reason

Date you arrived in the UK (Required)
Enter date in the format MM YYYY
[Month] [Year]

How long were you in the UK? (Required)
Select a unit of time and enter a value
Days, weeks, months or years
Number of days, weeks, months or years
The baby was born earlier this year in the UK, is currently in the UK, and has never left the UK so far.

How should I answer the travel history question?
Shall I just say "no" to the initial question so as to not worry about answering all these subsequent questions?

Have you figured out what they mean by "you" in the application? The main GTV holder or the dependent? If that's for the dependent, I would select yes for the first question and select "Other reason" and specify "born in the UK" for the question of why you were in the UK.
