In-country PBS Child Dependent Visa Delay

Post by sujit89 » Wed Sep 14, 2022 5:27 pm

Hi Everyone,

I have been waiting for nearly now 4 months to get a decision for my daughter's PBS Dependent Visa in-country. The visa was filed a week later than the main applicant's Skilled worker visa under the standard route. The main applicant visa came in 9 weeks after the biometrics, however, we are still waiting for the child's visa which is now nearly 18 weeks post the biometrics.

Is there a way we can contact UKVI to know the status of the application? I have an emergency to go outside the country, however, we can't now as we are still waiting for the visa. I have already called them and they are saying they can't provide the status on individual applications. I have also written 2 letters to Complaints Team but still no response.

Can someone please help me to find a way how we can contact UKVI to know the status.

Some timelines below -

1. Type of application: PBS Dependant Child Visa (Standard)
2. If switching, category changing (switching) from: NA
3. Number of dependants applying at the same time: 1
4. Date application submitted: 09/05/2022
5. Date payment debited: 09/05/2022
6. Payment mode: Online
7. Date of biometrics enrolment: 17/05/2022
8. Date of decision: Waiting
9. Date of BRP received: Waiting

Thanks, Sujit

It can take up to 6 months.

Has your spouse received their dependent visa?

My spouse is on her own skilled worker visa.
According to the timelines published, it says it takes 8 weeks, but why you are referring that it will take 6 months.

You will have to exercise patience, published SLAs can not be followed at this time as delays being experienced across range of HOs services.

Thanks, I can understand.

Is there a way we can request to know the current status and request to expedite as there is an emergency and we need to go out of country.

Thanks

If the service is available then you will see the option when you make the application online.
I submitted my daughters PBS child dependant visa application on 27th June. Priority and super priority was not available at the time. Still waiting on a decision.

Just want to check, is there anyone got any latest update. We have received below email for our daughter for PBS Skilled worker - dependent child in country.

Dear XYZ

Ref: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Thank you for your application for permission stay in the UK.

Although we would normally decide your application within eight weeks from the date it was submitted, unfortunately this is not going to be possible in your case.

The IHS payment does not appear to be correct it is £470.00 per year for a child under 18 for 12 months.

Also if this is still required can you upload your current BRP cards so we can grant the shortest date as per immigration rules.

Regards,
Decision Making Centre

Can someone suggest, what should we do? the email is so ambiguous. It's our daughter first brand new application so could have any current BRP which we can upload. We tried everything to upload to the link mentioned above like main applicant BRP details but it's not working. It's giving an error, that your details couldn't match with our records.

We have replied to above email with IHS payment reference number with follow up email however no response till date. We have tried handwritten letter to UKVI but no response to that as well. Phone lines are also going on IVR message.

Any help or pointer would be highly appreciated.

You need to submit both parents brp cards.
They are not asking about he child's brp card.

The child will get a visa in line with the parents visa which expires the soonest.

Thanks for the reply.

We did uploaded visa copy's to UKCAS portal when we submitted the application.

Also when we received above email, we try to upload both of ours BRP in the link mentioned above however it's not allowing me to upload. It says, your details doesn't match with our record.
