Name problem (with initials & full name) in different do

Post by raja00cs » Sun Sep 28, 2008 11:35 am

Hi, I am planning to apply for PBS tier-1.
I am from Bangalore & I have a doubt.

My name is spelt as "Raja.S" with initials in educational documents & employment records. But in my passport & bank documents my name is spelt as full name "Raja Sekar" where "Raja" stands for firstname & "Sekar" for last name.

Will this pose a problem? Has anyone faced any such issues.
Please help.

you have to take an affidavit saying that Raja.S and Raja Sekar both names belong to you. And it worked for me.

Attaching an affadavit with your application is advisable.

In my case:

Name on Bank Statements: Amit K D Das
Qualification: A K D Das
Passport: Complete name....

I did not give an affadavit...and it was not an issue.

But yes...i did have a few sleepless nights...best to attach an affadavit.... In India..such affadavits can be made in a couple of hours..at a local court...and max 100Rs expenditure.... :)

thanks - that helps....

i will search for a name affidavit form on the web and take it to my bank to have notary public notarize it, because we have slight tiny variations in the name but dont want to have too many sleepless nights!

Ok..I understand this was discussed multiple times before. But just wanted to inform that I too had the name difference issue - the family name is expanded and that too only in the Passport, but its consistent across the rest of the documents. Also I didn't submit any justifications in terms of an affidavit or the like. Can the posters of this topic please reply if they had their Visa processed?

Mine was processed. I did have an affidavit though.
It may not be completely necessary, but it should be helpful.

I got reply from entry clearence manager, who asked me attach the mail with my application and he said it wont be an issue.

Hi,

In my passport and all other certificates, my name is mentioned as Sukhpreet Singh, with surname section blank. I was in the UK for 7 months. When I returned I received my P60 and P45, which mentioned my first name as "Sukhpreet" and surname as "Singh". What should I do? Will this create any problem??
