Approved Citizenship with less than 150 points

Post by Irishspouse » Sat Sep 10, 2022 7:06 pm

Hello,
So I am just wondering if anyone or their spouse has been granted citizenship despite not having the full 150 points and used an affidavit to explain why?
I have 150 points for the final 2 years but only 60 for the first year as my husband was doing all the supporting , bills working etc so we will have to use an affidavit to explain why.
Has anyone done this and actually be granted citizenship?

Thanks

Points system is introduced for 2022 applications and right now they are evaluating late 2020 and 2021 applications. It’s too early to get approval for 2022 applications and current processing time is 23 months, so you won’t be able to get any decent answer before few more months

yep, it'll probably take another year to get to first points applications' ceremony

There are people in the 2022 Citizenship thread who have already got their approvals. I recommend asking them

Well I would imagine they have 150 points or more otherwise they wouldn't get approved so quickly. But this is just a guess.

While we have not received an invitation to ceremony yet, my spouse's 5-year non-EU/EEA seems to have been approved (we paid our fees anyway) with her first two years not having sufficient points. We basically carpet-bombed with all the things we could find for those years with her name, a letter (from me) indicating that I was the sole-breadwinner during that period, copies of my own 150-points of material from that time period, marriage certificate, etc.
