Congratulations.

Applied in 12/21 as of now just application number received. Nothing else , fingers crossed
Hi, I think your time only starts counting from the acknowledgment date, not when you send the documents. In any case, best of luck.
Time doesn't have any relativity with these cases. There are few applicants that got eVetting when they applied in 11/2021 and even some of them got approval recently. For myself, I got eVetting at October and completed at end of October but nothing since then.

So for some cases it takes much longer or much shorter, just keep checking your postbox.

Do you think that finding a solicitor at this stage helps my case;

My case: I applied in July 2021 and got my application number in Jan 2022, no update since then, just canned responses, I'm getting little stressed because personally I know some people waited more than 3 years without any solid reason. I would like to do whatever I need to do at this stage not to wait that long :)

Seems like FOI doesn't work, just canned responses there too, that is why I didn't try that path.

don't think it's intended to affect the responses; it's just seeing what they have on you, checking they got stuff in order/what they did on application in the meantime/etc. You can try to see what it gives, it's free.

As a late '21 applicant with nothing but acknowledgement, I'm considering FOI as well.

In this digital era, it'd be just a few months to implement a simple system that could track application status. I wonder why they are not doing such a simple thing. There are huge government contractors like Deloitte and Version1 who have enough resources and technical prowess to implement them. It would easily alleviate stress on the applicants as well as the burden on the department itself by avoiding responding to all the queries and FOI.

According to my solicitor (as I am out of country for New year) they got the approval notice so I should get approval letter also. I applied in November 2021. I was wondering can someone share what is the photo requirements mentioned in the approval letter? So I can deal with it till I get a chance to access my approval letter in person.

Hey, this is what is in the letter… “ A digital version of a colour passport sized photo, taken within the last 30 days. The digital version of the passport sized photo must be in JPEG format. We recommend you go to a photo shop or photo provider as the photo can be emailed to you. Poor quality photos may delay your invitation to a citizenship ceremony.”

But tbh, I downloaded an app on my phone and took the picture myself at home, when you star the application online they will tell you more about the picture, but is very simple and easy.

It's 715x951px on a light background. I have used Passport Photo Editor app (Android). It has got this setting and very easy to use.

Does anyone know when do they start processing the citizenship payments? Does it start before the ceremony date or is it some time after the payment is submitted?

Guys this may be a silly question to ask but does the nature of the case depends on the case being starightforward?

i.e: critical case stamp1 plus stamp4 would be very straightforward.

what about eufam 5 years and then 10 years valid IRP (would this not be so straightforward for them) ?

Also, does it take very long to process an application based on applicant's nationality ?

I updated the department with a new home address would this further delay the application?

Mine was applied in April 2021 and no garda vetting received yet.

STill no luck with evetting. Applied in Dec 21 and just have reference number. The process seems to have stopped and we only see people applied in nov21 to have received responses.

Same here. Ah well, we wait. Or you can try FOI.

On the other hand, 3 2022 applications got through despite that, but there are the exception.

(July 2021) Finally I got e-vetting form, but my wife (July 2021) not yet... So I think, they will start slowly process all remaining 2021 applications.
I think, we all should just wait because FOI kinda useless.

You're lucky atleast theres some progress on your application. Mine is April 2021 and no response yet. I mean just the acknowledgement but no garda vetting.

Hi guys i was looking to see if theres anyone in this forum whose naturalisation was approved without any garda vetting?

I am asking this as i heard from someone that it depends on the minister to request the applicant to fillout garda vetting but there are cases where naturalisation certificates were issued without vetting.

Anyone?

Thankyou

I think they are asking for eVetting from everyone applied after 2019. You can check timeline but I doubt anyone got approval without eVetting.

Not so much updates since January, so I think there will be no ceremony in March, they won't approve so quick enough people unfortunately...

This eVetting process will be a requirement for all adult applicants (ROI residents) who will be requested at a later stage in the decision making process, to undertake the Gardaí e-vetting process or other Police vetting processes as deemed necessary.
Don't think anyone was approved without it since introduction of this.

We can still hope for something intermediate in May instead of June, for example, or even April. Time will tell.

I applied for my kid on Nov 2021 (EU passport, 5+ years in Ireland). In a year, in Nov 2022 we received per-approval, 2nd part of the fee was paid and on the 21st of Nov we received email that application fee was processed, and it may take up to 4 weeks to get a certificate by post.

Now it is almost 2 months - no certificate received yet. I've sent them an email a week ago asking how much longer it may take - no response yet.

Yea, as mentioned by other members, it takes a long while.

I paid the fee 2 Jan 2023. Applied in Aug 2021.

I don't have the approval yet, even though they asked me to pay the fee. No intel about "fees processed" either.

Also it is normal, takes 2-4 weeks to have it accepted
