Visa extension for ILR Dependent

Post by vnsarvind » Wed Jan 25, 2023 12:17 am

Hi, Here is my visa details:
June 2017 - June 2020 : Tier 2 General
March 2020 - March 2023 : Tier 2 General - Extension (Early extension due to COVID Fear)
ILR : July 2022 (valid for 10 years)

Here is visa details for dependents :
My Spouse & Son:
July 2021 - March 2023 : Tier 2 general Dependent

Since my dependents are still not eligible for ILR, I would need to extend their visa. My Question is:
1- Under which visa category, I should extend their visa ? Is PBS Dependent 5 years, the right category or Is PBS Dependent 3 years, the right category ?
2- Will the new dependent visa be valid for 5 years or for 3 years (because my Tier-2 general extension happened for 3 years)
3- If I pay for IHS, it is asking for my visa / ILR detail. If I put 10 year tenure, it is calculating 10 years IHS for dependent visas. Should I put expiry date of my ILR only for 4 years (because my dependent need 4 more years for ILR)

Please suggest.

You wera advised last year that they apply for a pbs dependent visa which will be a 3 year extension

indefinite-leave-to-remain/ilr-for-moth ... l#p2089795

1. It will be a 3 year extension

2. Its 3 years when the main pbs migrant has ILR.

3. Put expiry date 3 years in the future to get the right IHS for 3 years

4. They will only be granted a 3 year extension as stated in the immigration rules.

Thank you for your response. My next follow-up question is:

My dependent will be eligible for ILR only after July 2026 ( as they will complete 5 years on PBS Dependent or Tier 2 dependent).
Since current visa extension for 3 years will expire before July 2026 ( say expiration date is March 2026), so do they have to renew PBS dependent visa for another 4 months or it will be renewed for another 3 years ( say March 2024 to March 2027)?
Is there any way to escape renewal of visa for another remaining 4 months ( April, May,June, July 2026) ?

Please suggest.

They would likely need a further extension. It depends when the extension you are doing now is approved and valid from. If you use standard service, it buys some time.
