Valid BRC required for citizenship application?

Post by devshi » Wed Jan 25, 2023 1:50 pm

Hello all!

My husband (family of EEA citizen) and I (EEA citizen) currently hold Settled Status and should be able to apply for citizenship at the start of March.

However, I just realised that the husband's BRC expired this month. Is a valid BRC required for the application?
The application only asks if he has a BRP and I haven't been able to find any information on if the BRC is required.

Thanks for your help!

No - Settled Status doesn't expire with the card, just submit the BRC.
In this context there's no difference between BRP (for those under UK ILR) and BRC (Non-EU family members).
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
