OCI Application Query

Hi all

Just have a query. My wife birth cert is post dated from India

Believe she needs to get that attested by magistrate

Do they do the process on a photocopy or would they need original? trying to think if we should send original to our family in India to get it done or just email a copy so they can print and do the needs for us?

Secondly how long is the application valid for? as we have filled all in just missing this one document
