UK student visa + dependent visa (spouse+kids)

Post by golguppa88 » Tue May 16, 2023 6:20 pm

Hi all... I have received CAS from a university in UK for sept 2023 intake. Now I wish to travel with my spouse and kids. For this I have certain queries:

1. Can we all (family of 4) apply in single visa application?

2. Do we need to apply for student visa first and then for dependent visa?

3. In student visa application, can I add details of my family who wish to travel with me at the same time?

4. Can I submit details of funds held by my spouse to show my funds availablity?

5. In whose application children will be added?

6. How to know exact IHS fees for all 4 of us?

7. I have applied for education loan but it's taking time to get through. So can I show funds held by my spouse now for my funds requirements and then later at his application can we show that I got education loans so his funds which were utilised at my visa can be used to reflect rest of family funds requirements?

In case anyone has dealt with such case, kindly let me know. I am in fix and no visa agent is clarifying my doubts. I don't want to raise any suspicion to visa authorities.

Please help

1. You need 4 separate applications for 4 people applying.

2. No.

3. Yes, but that is only to indicate who is traveling with you. It is not an application for your dependents.

4. Yes, if the funds are sufficient to cover all of you and your course.

5. See number 3 above.

6. The IHS is £470 per year per applicant applying.

7. You cannot use money like that, ie reuse the same money for another purpose for a study visa as far as I am aware. If you all apply together, you have to prove you have the money to support yourselves and the course fees. All detailed in the link below.

No. See Immigration Rules Appendix Finance, paragraphs FIN 5.1(a)

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... ix-finance

FIN 5.1. Accounts relied on must be in the name of the applicant [...], unless[...]:
(a) the account is in the name of the applicant’s partner who is applying for entry clearance [...] at the same time [...]

I don't advise using agents for advice about the application. Your university has specialist advisers whose main job is to help students with the Student visa application.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
