British Citizenship application form

Post by NeelaJay » Tue Jun 06, 2023 9:31 am

Hi,

My husband got his citizenship last year. Now we need to apply for myself and our son.
I am getting confused which is the correct application form I need to use? Should I apply separately for my son?
We both (myself and son) have ILR. Can anyone pls guide me?
Thanks in advance

AN1 for you; you can add your son to apply with you during the process, form will adapt to include MN1.
Not a qualified immigration adviser. Use links and references given to gain confirmation and/or extra information.

You apply online as the screen indicates.
Char (CR001 not Casa)
In life you cannot press the Backspace button!!

Thanks a lot.

I have uploaded all the required documents. Last one left out is Referee declarations. I want to know if I take photo at home using my SLR and then print on my own and stick it. Will this be accepted? or is it better to go to a photo booth to get it done.

Regards

Child's birth certificate showing both of your names.

If you can do passport style photos that’s fine. A smartphone is normally sufficient.

Hi,

Please someone help me. After paying for my child I realised that my FIRST REFREE IS WRONG. I had filled the form with details of a referee who is our friend.

I just now read the below statement and I am panicking.

Where the applicant is a child applying, one referee should be a professional who
has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health
visitor, social worker or minister of religion.

Now that we cannot edit because I have paid fees, what should I do? Shall I upload three referee documents
1. School teacher reference - the correct Referee 1 but not entered in application form
2. My friend - Wrong Referee
3. Second Referee

I am not sure if School Headteacher will give their Personal Information such as Passport number. What are the options in that case??. Since my Child is 9 Years there is no Health Visitor and no Social Worker.
Please someone help

Attach new referee form, write a cover note indicating which referee to disregard and upload. There is no strictness for child application.

Thank you so much.

We checked with School, GP and tutor they refused to give personal info such as Passport number, address and other details due to data protection. What can I do In this situation?

They are okay to sign the referee document but not referee personal details.

Please advise.

Thanks again

Referees must provide their details - otherwise they can't act as referees.
This is a common situation when applying for children, UKVI are aware of this.
Use the same referees as for your own application and write a covering note explaining the situation to show that you have tried. Load with the other documents.

Yes, as long as they know the child.

Hi,

I Submitted all documents just now. I am trying to book appointment, do we need to pay for Standard Service Centres? I dint know fees is included for appointments. Appointment fee is charged by UKVCAS, not included in the Home Office application fee. There are some free appointments available, if you can get one, otherwise fees range from £60 to £200 ....

My husband had online submission. Please advise.

Even at standard service centers if you have not chosen a free appointment you have got to pay as what you highlighted above clearly shows.

No - unless you paid for UKVCAS to do scan/upload then bring originals (no copy required). If you have uploaded everything already just bring your passport/brp. Note UKVCAS don't review the documents, they are are just collecting biometrics and loading to UKVI.
Please let me know what documents to carry and what happens during the appointment. You give your biometrics.

Thanks a million
