Want to move Ireland on behalf of Spouse

Post by yasin786 » Tue Jun 06, 2023 2:02 pm

Hi All,
I am currently living in Pakistan with my wife who is Irish national and want to move Ireland with her. Can anyone suggest me for which Visa should i apply for. Should I apply for long stay or just apply for short stay(Visit visa) and then after getting visit visa go to ireland and apply for visa extension from there. My daughter is also Irish national.

But there are some conditions specified on website that sponsor has to fulfill.
1. Sponsor shall cater all expenses of applicant but my wife is not doing any job since last 3 years etc.

Well, you can't avoid it by coming on a visit visa. It's stated on the website:
https://www.irishimmigration.ie/my-situ ... al-scheme/
You may be eligible to apply to Spouse of Irish National Unit, Immigration Service Delivery (address below) directly if you:

Have no current permission to be in the State, or

Have entered on the incorrect visa (‘C’ visa)
[...]

if my spouse has not been doing any work due to some domestic reason, will they consider my case if we show them our savings instead of sponsor's earnings?

From the policy document given at the website (this one) ultimately states what's mentioned:
17.2 An Irish citizen, in order to sponsor an immediate family member, must
not have been totally or predominantly reliant on benefits from the Irish
State for a continuous period in excess of 2 years immediately prior to
the application and must over the three year period prior to application
have earned a cumulative gross income over and above any State
benefits of not less than €40k.
17.5 mentions savings, but by the layout I think it's only about nonEEA sponsors.

UK might be a better option as they accept savings for a Spouse visa?
