Identity verification

Post by shpirtshqipe » Fri Jun 09, 2023 10:00 am

Hi all,

Just want to be sure can a solicitor sign the identity verification form for passport application instead of Garda?

Reading on the official website they state form is required to be signed by Garda for first time adult applicants. Does this mean it is only for Irish born or does it also include naturalised citizens?

For applicants outside of Ireland solicitor is listed as one of the witnesses that can sign the form

Thanks

It includes naturalized citizens, but if you reside in Ireland. If you're applying from abroad, well, you won't be able to find a Garda, so solicitor should be fine.
Not a qualified immigration adviser. Use links and references given to gain confirmation and/or extra information.
