HMPO First adult passport, time to return foreign passport?

Hi,

So my husband has now had his ceremony and has a certificate. His other citizenship is a EU one that allows dual citizenship.

I take it that for a first adult passport HMPO requires you to send the foreign passport and there is not fast track or premium service.

our issue is that we travel frequently and have already trips planned in mid-November, early December, and Christmas.

How long is HMPO taking in returning the foreign passports used as supporting documents? is there a way to request this passport to be returned ASAP? Is the EUSS any useful for this? they already know it all anyways.

No guarantees that it might work, but you can give it a go. Passport issuance could get delayed.

so you can apply for his BP when you lot come back. HMPO would return his foreign passport and supporting documents after he receives his BP. Not before!
