Application enquiry!

Post by Ukusa2023 » Mon Dec 04, 2023 8:41 pm

A few questions you may be able to help me with, applying for spousal visa USA to UK

How many times have you been to the UK in the past 10 years? Not sure how to respond to this, I lived in the uk 2019-2021 and have visited since/does this only include visits or does this include living in the UK

Have you applied for leave to remain in the UK in the past 10 years?
lived here on a work visa previously 2019-2021, which type of visa would this have been?!

At any time have you ever had any of the following, in the UK or in another country?
A criminal conviction
A penalty for a driving offence, for example disqualification for speeding or no motor insurance
An arrest or charge for which you are currently on, or awaiting trial
A caution, warning, reprimand or other out-of-court penalty
A civil court judgment against you, for example for non payment of debt, bankruptcy proceedings or anti-social behaviour
A civil penalty issued under UK immigration law

speeding ticket in 2013 - is this still relevant

Do you and ***** have any shared financial responsibilities? what does this include?

Shared loans, shared rent, shared bank accounts, shared financial commitments, shared regular bills, etc.

Are you applying as an unmarried partner? In that case, you need to show that you have been in a "relationship akin to marriage" with shared financial responsibilities, as mentioned above, for at least two years before the date of applilcation.

I'd suggest that if you are visiting the UK, you would have been in the UK and so all of them should also be included.

You need to tell us that!!! It may have been a Skilled Worker visa, but assuming that you are American (based on your username), it could be a Youth Mobility visa, or it could have been a post-study Graduate visa.

Surely you would know what visas you applied in the past.

Yes so I’m thinking everytime I have entered the UK - including for instance when living here and going somewhere else in Europe for a weekend, the flight back to the UK would count? That’s not been made so clear as technically not visiting but coming back “home”

Yes sorry, it was a skilled worker visa applied for by my previous work I believe it said enter to leave

Thank you for your help

Leave to remain (leave in this case meaning permission).

"Enter to leave" sounds like a philosophical description of all of life :)
