Dear community,
I am writing to seek urgent advice regarding my current immigration status in Ireland. I resigned from my job on a Critical Skills Employment Permit (Stamp 1) in Ireland, I completed 12 months on Stamp 1. I have informed DETE of my resignation, and they advised me that I have 6 months ( which would be December 31st) to remain in the country.
Despite actively pursuing new employment opportunities, I have not yet secured a position due to sponsorship issues or other unforeseen circumstances. I recently received a job offer, but the company is still awaiting their employment license, which may take some time. As a last resort, I considered applying for a dependent visa ( My spouse is on CSEP stamp 1) to bridge this gap, but the website indicates a processing time of six months, during which the dependent is not permitted to work.
Given my current situation, I am seeking guidance on the most appropriate course of action. I have attempted to contact DETE via email but have not received a response.
Questions.
1. How do I effectively contact DETE regarding my situation?
2. Is the timeline for moving from a CSEP Stamp 1 permit to a dependent visa six months? If so, are there any alternative options to bridge this gap and maintain my legal status in Ireland?
3. What do I do, can I get an extension as I have an offer from a company that is doing License paperwork?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
