Hello Seniors,
Could you please help me with the query?
My Indian passport expiry date is 16th Dec 2023. I've applied for the Passport renewal in UK and the appointment is on 14th Dec 2023. My BRP is valid till 12 Dec 2024.
If I travel to India today (6th Dec 2023) and return to UK on 10th Dec 2023, where I will have 6 days validity on my passport, will the UK Immigration allows me in?
I've checked with Indian Embassy and they are fine with it as long as the destination country allows the candidate to enter.
Thanks in advance.

The requirement is to have a valid passport. There's no minimum validity requirement.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

No problems expected at the UK POE as advised. Passport is valid until it's last day. What you need to worry about is the airlines. You could meet some overzealous staff that doesn't know how it works.
You have to stand your ground and say that you live in the UK and you're going back home.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

@ sreevanigoli - I am in a similar boat as you now. Can you confirm if you were able to travel to India and get back into the UK without any issues at immigration? If you could share your experience it would help me and many more like us
