Do I really need an employment/Job contract from UK for Tier 1 (General ) ...

No you dont need Job offer to apply for tier 1 (G)

Your question needs to be a bit more detailed.

Two scenarios:

a) If you are applying from outside UK then you do not need a job contract from an employer in UK

b) You will require employment contract and letter from employer, if you are claiming points for earnings from a job in UK
