Renewing Indian Passport & Visa

Post by Prem » Tue May 05, 2009 6:30 pm

SORRY COULD SOMEONE MOVE THIS TO THE CORRECT FORUM PLEASE

Hi there

My mother is an Indian Citizen, has an Indian Passport and had a 10 year Visa to stay here in th UK. However her passport has now expired.

We know how to renew her passport, but does anyone know where I can find the forms for her Right of Abode Visa on the net? The processing times and the cost?

Can anyone advise on this please?

Many Thanks

Prem

See also Passport.

The terms "10 year Visa to stay" and "Right of Abode Visa" are inconsistent. What does her UK endorsement in her passport say exactly? When did she arrive?

Hi Vinny

Thanks for the reply;

She's been here since 1979, on her passport the stamps says:

""There is at present no time limit on the holder's stay in the United Kingdom"

On behalf of the Secretary of State Home Office.

Many Thanks

The NLT endorsement is equivalent to an ILR. It may be transferred to her new passport if she wishes to do so. She is subject to the Returning residents provisions.

It is different from a Right of Abode.
