I have already updated against my name "Chi". Not able to remove notes and also Ack Date is changing to May.09 instead of May.06.

Hi ChIrl, the dates format seems to be confusing to everyone. If you input dates like this MM-YYYY (e.g. 05-2006), then the spreadsheet converts them to May-06 automatically. If you enter 05-06, then it mistakenly converts this this to May-09. Not sure why exactly! I have updated your Ack Date to 05-2006.

All date columns from Ack Date onwards are available for editing, so you should be able to edit the NOTES Column. Perhaps someone else was editing the Grid at the same time as you, as this can lead to conflicts?

How long does it take from processing to decision

Post by Espero » Thu May 28, 2009 6:38 pm

Hi people,

I'm new to this board.

I was talking to INIS today (spouse of Irish citizen) and they told me that my application is open and being processed at an early stage though :(

nothing sent to Gardai or SW. do you know how long it takes from "early stage of processing" to being sent to the above? also how long does it normally take at Gardai and SW?

When did you originally apply? It's difficult to give waterproof timelines since, frankly, INIS works neither to timelines nor respects any chronological sequence. You might as well expect complete certainty from a crapshoot. For instance, many of the people posting here applied back in 2006 and have been left wondering how long their applications are going to continue languishing with outside agencies.

To put things into some kind of perspective, I applied in August 2006. I was requested to submit further documents in September 2008. According to INIS, they requested the Garda check in September 2008 and the SW check in December 2008.

The current status of my application is WAITING: [INDEFINITELY].

You should also check the timeline spreadsheet sticky on the top of this forum--it'll give you an indication how uneven and unpredictable INIS's processing is.

Wow! :o
What's going on in INIS? :? So many approvals this week! :D :D :D
(Did they shorten the tea breaks or was there just a good round of 4r$e-kicking?)
No sign of mine yet though.

They probably managed to get tea intravenously through a continuous drip. That way they can be productive while at the same time taking the much needed tea. :)

Congratulations to EireIreland, seldam, ChIrl, NotYetIrish!

Your good news is also good news for us who are still waiting as it gives us much needed hope! It feels just like the intraveous tea....

Nop. It wouldn't make any difference at all to your naturalisation application. I asked this to INIS and they told me the naturalisation process and the "without condition as to time" process are completely separate and independent of each other. They do not conflict with each other and they do not help each other out.

LP - Thanks for the update. I applied in Mid 2006 and have already got LTR, so I think there is no point going for indefinite and also by looking at so many people got approval today our turn will come soon...hope so :P

Hello friends!

I have some very good news to share.

Today I received my approval in the post! :) (It wasn't registered post). I got an appointment in Dolphin House for September. :( But anyway, I'm happy that I already got the approval!!!

I have just added my details to scrudu's spreadsheet.

Here is my timeline:

28-03-2006 I submitted application
10-04-2006 INIS (Burgh Quay) acknowledged receipt of application
29-05-2006 INIS (Burgh Quay) placed application in chronological order along with new applications
10-09-2008 INIS (Tipperary) requested P21, payslips and bank statements
19-09-2008 I sent payslips and bank statements (P21 pending)
23-09-2008 INIS (Tipperary) acknowledged receipt of payslips and bank statements
29-09-2008 I sent Tax Notice of Assessment (instead of P21)
01-10-2008 INIS (Tipperary) acknowledged receipt of Tax Notice of Assessment
16-12-2008 I rang INIS to ask status. INIS mentioned my application is at Garda check and that it was sent in September. I am informed Garda check takes between 3 to 6 months to complete.
27-01-2009 I rang INIS to ask status. INIS mentioned my application is still at Garda check. They mentioned they sent a reminder to the Gardai and they expect the report from them in 2 months.
15-02-2009 I applied for a “without condition as to time endorsementâ€

LuasPassenger,

The cynics said this day will never come. Yes it came.

A ragtag band of foreigners declaring their rights (and privileges) to be Irish based on rules set, yes you've become one of them.

You've struggled for what did not seem possible before, that is what Hope is.

Keep us in your heart and may that same Hope lights our path too.

I just want to be Irish, I don't want a privilege.

That is what Hope is...

Yes, making oath of allegiance to Ireland requires very specific attire. See below:

Got my approval letter 28/05/09 (regular post!).
Letter dated by 26/05/09.

Applied 10/04/2006.
Additional docs requested and sent back late September 2008.
Sent to minister (from INIS "Help" line words) 01/04/2009.

Any news about Court appointments in Dublin?
