Spouse/Settlement applications - BHC India

Post by navbulls » Wed Jun 17, 2009 1:29 pm

Dear Forum,

I have recently applied for my settlement visa , details:

date of application: 12-05-2009

current status as of 17-06-2009 : VFS tracking shows forwarded to the British High Commission New Delhi.

I Have been speaking to BHC NEW DELHI almost every week and get different answers as to my query " HOW MUCH MORE TIME"....

Firstly, I was told 10-15 working days... then upto a month... then month an a half and now two months... The problem is they don't give out their names so when u call nxt time some other call handler can say whatever...

Well was told last week that due to T20 World cup visa officers are not been able to deal with any settlement case.. and the gentleman on the ph didn't even hesitate to say 'we at BHC NEW DELHI dont worry much about settlement cases as we are in no rush to settle them' and can take our time....

Any other person in same boat, still awaiting decision and how long its taking.

Guys HELP! and PLs keep this post active

Regards

Nav

Now that the Indians have lost in the T20 World cup, maybe the staff at the BHC can get their finger out and do some work.
  :D

On average the settlement visa takes approx 3 months or so in India or Pakistan to issue , despite what they say to you.

So just be a bit more patient :P

Hi navbulls,
yes i applied at BHC New Delhi. My wife's medical was done on the week staring 25th of may and she obtained her visa on the 4th of June.

There is no use getting in touch with the high commission, they won't respond. And VFS will not have any information either.

since i was on holiday for five weeks i did write an email which i copied to both BHC and VFS. BHC did not bother to reply, VFS said that they have passed on the applciation to BHC.

just hang on, you will hear from them.

HI NAVBULLS,

I am in the same boat mate, I applied for my wife's settlement visa on 12 of May 2009, still the status on the VFS website is same as it was from begining. Nothing heard from anybody.

I sent an email to VFS, they said "now the application is with British high commission and they will contact you".

Actually I applied at VFS Center in Chandigarh, but obviously they sent it to BHC Delhi. Have you got BHC delhi telephone number in case I give them a call.

Cheers

Cheers bud, please keep me updated when you speak to them next week or anything happens in your case..... I think we are the only two individuals who are waiting for Entry Clearnance decisions. Nobody else got this problem....

Hi, On friday I emailed BHC describing my situation. They emailed this morning saying that "the UK settlement visa will take 12 weeks." I dont know what is going on. VFS is saying something and BHC is saying totally different.
