Is 700Â£ fee too much to pay a qualified immigration advisor

Hi I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me around how much I should be paying for someone to sort out a straight forward appliction. I've seen a range from 500-700Â£. Is that about right? How much is too much? I'm very curious-Thank you

Why pay a solicitor when you van get free advise here free of charge. Just explain your circumstances in detail and what you want to do, and people will point you in the right direction till the completition

If it's a straight forward application then why not do it yourself and save the advisor costs?

Exactly what kind of application is it? Some are very difficult and complicated, and some are very simple.

In the UK, in my opinio0n, any kind of professional advice is expensive. Sometimes it is worth the money and often not.

can somebody recommend me a good solicitor who can get an ILR in a day based on 10 years of legal stay.

In a day? Any solicitor who promises this to you will likely be misleading you.

I can not advise you how to do your application. You could do it yourself. You could get a solicitor to help you. There may be other options.

You have not provided much detail about the application or why you think it is hard or easy to do. So it is hard to tell.

But an application will be processed over months, not days, and I think you need to expect it to take a while. Even getting together the documentation you need to do the application will take, in most cases, several days or weeks.

It is not very tricky. I have 4 years of student visa, followed by 4 years of work permit, then 1 years of student visa and then 2 years of HSMP. My HSMP renewal is due in December and I want ILR to be sorted as soon as possible as I need to travel as part of my work. If it gets stuck in postal applications (which they say for 6 months), my HSMP renewal will be delayed and might incur a break in continuity.

You can do it yourself, just compile all the documents, proving you have 10 years lawful resident in the UK.

Take it to the Home office and pay for the Fast track processing, which is about Â£750.

Your case looks pretty straight forward

You should write to HO and request ur SAR file - see if they consider u have gaps, always possible - if u search u'll find many an incredulous applicant with mystery gaps....

Suraya, i had mine done same day in croydon back in april, was very straightforward..the only thing is i had no gaps and my stay was legal all the way through the 10 years switching between student visas, SEGs and workpermit ..look at the link below to see a detailed account on the documents i provided and the whole experience..if your case is straightforward..no need for a solicitor ..
